Stroud Arts Festival

An Invitation To Benefit From
The Margaret & Netlam Bigg Legacy

The Stroud Festival Board of Directors distributes funds on behalf of the Margaret & Netlam Bigg Trust, a charity promoting the arts and culture in the Stroud District.

The Directors are currently inviting applications from local groups and organisations wishing to bring an event or arts/craft-related activity to the public in Stroud and the Five Valleys.

Applicants must be able to present an outline of a performance, show, workshop, exhibition etc. which will be of interest to the public, and involve as many people as possible, whether as performers, organisers, or spectators. Grants are normally given in amounts up to £500 but organisers of larger projects should not be deterred from making an application.

Past events supported by Stroud Festival have included Youth Drama performances, a Film Festival showcasing local film makers work, poetry readings, visual art and photographic exhibitions, dance workshops and performances, exhibitions and workshops as part of the Printmakers Festival ….. the list goes on! Grants have fully funded some events, or helped to cover some of the production costs associated with such projects, for example, performers fees, travel expenses for participants, specialist equipment etc.

Proposals are invited each year before the end of February but grants may be made earlier if the Directors and committee consider the proposal viable. Successful applicants can hold their event at any time during that year and are asked only to acknowledge the financial support they have received in their publicity material. (See conditions of Grants)
